Lin, who is studying singing at Nantong Elderly University in Jiangsu province, suggested colleges should roll out more courses tailored to seniors' needs, such as training in finances and legal matters. "Many elderly have some savings but lack know-how to take good care of their money."
Liu said more than 10 million people from across the country have taken part in the preliminary rounds of the 17 sports for amateur enthusiasts that have concluded, and more than 7,000 grassroots players have qualified in the finals being held in Tianjin from Sunday to Sept 8.

We are also mobilizing other Chinese companies to participate in this program. In another five years, we are going to see visible benefits from these efforts."
