Xi and Bounnhang signed the action plan between the CPC and the LPRP, and witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents, including a cooperative framework for the China-Laos Economic Corridor and cooperation programs for the China-Laos Railway.
Xi's remarks came as information technologies are playing an increasingly important role in fueling economic growth. In 2017, China's digital economy accounted for 27.2 trillion yuan (.3 trillion), or 32.9 percent of the nation's gross domestic product, according to the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
Xi, also Chinese president, chairman of the Central Military Commission, and head of the central committee for deepening overall reform, made the remarks when presiding over the second meeting of the committee on Friday.
Xi said he appreciates the royal family's contribution to the China-UK friendship, and recalled his successful state visit to Britain in 2015, which opened up "Golden Era" of bilateral ties.
Xi said that China will allocate an extra 100 billion yuan (.5 billion) into the existing Silk Road Fund, 380 billion yuan in loans for infrastructure and development projects, and 60 billion yuan in aid to developing countries and international bodies in economies related to the newly revived trade routes.

Xi also suggested that the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting be institutionalized and developed into a high-level political dialogue platform of broad representation and international influence.
Xi proposed to expand people-to-people communications and local-level exchanges between the two countries.
Xi also emphasized the necessity of using big data to improve governance. A nationwide information-sharing platform should be set up with the use of e-government and smart city systems.
Xi hailed the agencies' contributions to national security and social stability and praised the role they have played in social and economic development.
